OKOMpromo.com House Concert Series

A mighty big THANK YOU goes out to Jenny Madison for the show on July 12th.  Thanks also to her family and friends that came out and added their talent to the show.  Shame on you folks that didn't come out!  You don't know what you missed!  I wish the best of luck to Jenny and her career.  I think she will go far!

On Aug. 1st,  Husband and wife, Ricky and Micol, better known as Blue Mother Tupelo, will be bringing their signature swampadelic southern soul sound to the basement.  This is from their bio:

"Unique, passionate, inspired and unaffected by musical genres, Blue Mother Tupelo is pure heart and soul."

Don't miss this show!  They hardly ever travel north of Nashville, but my hopes are that once people see and hear them, that will all change.  Let's fill the basement to capacity, not only for this show, but for all the shows!

The month of September brings another Nashville musician to the house concert series.  This will be a total acoustic set and will be a Friday night show.  The date is September 26th and we are excited to bring Greg Trooper to the basement!  Greg has been on the music scene for the better part of 30 years and has made an impact on the music scenes in all the places he’s lived since leaving home after high school: Austin, Texas, Lawrence, Kansas, New York and Nashville.  His songs have been recorded by Vince Gill, Steve Earle, Billy Bragg, Lucy Kaplansky, Maura O’Connell, and Robert Earl Keen, among others.  From Greg's bio:
"Billboard magazine has called him "an artist of considerable insight and passion." Nashville music critic Robert K. Oermann has said Trooper's "songs and delivery grab you by the throat." Fans know a voice of grit and experience signing songs in which they recognize themselves. They also know that come the proverbial hell or high water, Greg will still be forging forward, trooper that he is."
Let's make Greg feel welcome in Louisville by filling every seat.  Music starts at 8:00, doors open at 7:00, so come on out for some good food and some great music!
As always, seating is limited, so be sure and get your name in early to reserve a spot.  The best way to do that is to click the Contact / Feedback tab and send an email.  Check back here often...who knows - we may sneak a few more in before the year comes to a close!

Welcome to OKOMpromo.com!

We're glad you stopped by.  Our main goal is to promote the stars of tomorrow (and in some cases, yesterday) today.

If you aren't familiar with OKOM, it stands for "our kind of music", and if you are familiar with the term, then you're going to fit right in.  Hopefully, you recognize some of the folks in the banner above, like Edgehill Ave. or Kim Richey.  If you don't, you'll know a lot more about them and many others before you leave.  I don't know how many times I have heard someone say, "I wish I had known so and so was in town...I've wanted to see them for months!".  Now you'll have no excuse.

Be sure and visit every page in this site.  The information is being updated and added to every week, so visit often.  We have a photo album, a page full of official web sites of groups/artists, plus their MySpace site, if they have one.  There is a page of bios of various artists, a page with links to printed and/or online publications and links to videos (commercial and personal), a venue page listed by State/City and last, but not least, a page with links to tour dates.

We at OKOMpromo.com do not receive any compensation from any musical artist.  We want to see them succeed and this is our way of telling the world about how talented they are.  If you know about someone that we don't, please contact us with a link or a paragraph about them.
